HOW TO WRITE A PRESS RELEASE

A half-day workshop

Who should attend: This half-day workshop is for senior managers of small to medium businesses who don’t have a PR department and want to see their company name in the local press more often. You have tried contacting the media in the past, but with little success. Either you’re fed up of sending in Press Releases that never see the light of day, or you haven’t a clue where to start. This workshop is also good for press officers who have never worked in a newspaper office.

What you will gain: By the end of the session, you will have written at least one Press Release about your company. You will understand how to package your good news in a format that’s most likely to get past the News Editor’s ‘delete’ button. And you’ll come away with a series of top tips to help you get your good news noticed in future. The session includes discussion, presentations and practical exercises.

Who is delivering this course: Anita Syvret is the Director of SyvretMedia and an award-winning journalist. She was Editor of the Gloucestershire Echo in Cheltenham for 18 years until 2008 and has 30 years’ experience in the regional newspaper industry. She is an entertaining speaker and a lively trainer.
